Dear Friends,

My name is Elana Haviv and I am an IM graduate. I have spent most of the last five years running a reconciliation project for youth in post-war Bosnia . The youth, ages 14-21, are children born into opposing sides of the recent war. They now live segregated from one another in divided Bosnia .

Although I do not teach 'healing table work' in Bosnia, I have incorporated what I have learned from IM into my daily work. In 2003 I had the opportunity to bring two students from Sarajevo to New York City to open the group's art exhibit, "Aftershocks: Art and Memoirs from Growing up in the Aftermath".

While in NYC, I was able to bring Una and Ismet to a Thursday Healing circle and introduce them to Levent Bolukbasi, the Founder and President of the IM School of Healing Arts. This amazing evening at the IM school had a life changing effect on my two students. For the last several years they have been discussing their experience and their desire to become healers so they can bring the work from IM to Bosnia .

It is with this intention that I invite you to help bring Ismet and Una to NYC where they will be able to spend four weeks learning the basic skills of healing from Levent. The second portion of this learning will be to bring Levent and Anna Kilmer, the Director of the IM School to Bosnia for two weeks and provide them with the opportunity to work with more students to begin a healing network in Bosnia . Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 for this endeavor. The greater portion of the budget will be for airline tickets therefore, donating 'miles' is also greatly apreciated as it will bring down the budget costs. Contributions can be sent to my New York based non-profit organization, the Children's Movement for Creative Education. All donations are tax deductible. We will provide you with an official letter from the organization for accounting purposes.

Healing work is greatly needed in Bosnia. However, outlets for this type of work are relatively non-existent and people continue to suffer. I am hopeful that a new generation of healers can impact the Bosnian community and transform their present pain and dilemma. I have been able to experience this first-hand and can barely describe in words the positive potential of this work.

Ismet:
The main reason I would really like to work and to learn from Levent is because when I attended Thursday night group he helped me a lot, in a way that I "cleaned" my body, and filled it up with a completely new energy. It affected me a lot, my thoughts, feelings, ideas... in a really positive and a good way. I would love to have a chance to heal, to learn to heal and to help anyone who needs it, like I needed it. It is a great feeling to have a chance to help someone. I am really hoping that we will have a chance to come to study with Levent, and to start doing healing more often.

Una:
This healing work has helped me already to cross out some things from my past and to find a completely new light for myself. This gift I will carry all my life, till the end of it and it is priceless. My biggest wish would be to become a student of the IM School of Healing Arts . Because of my experience with Levent's session and its effects, I would like to help people with the same method who survived the war in BiH. I would be so lucky to help just one person if I can.
